HIKING AND AESTHETIC EXPERIENCE: EXPOSING ONESELF TO THE FORCE OF THINGS
The considerations below try to prove, that landscape aesthetic experiences belong to the deep sources of hiking pleasure, provided we stay away in the landscape from actively addressing things, but allow them, instead, to bespeak us. These ideas are published in the brochure “Wanderlust – The Magic of walking” (Kulturamt der Stadt Eisenach, ed.), 34 – 37, self-publishing, Eisenach, 2017. At the end of June 2017 and prior to the 117th German Hiking Day the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Eisenach arranged a small but mighty symposium “With light baggage – pleading for sustainable hiking”, where the participants were comforted to speak on the philosophy and practice of new hiking tendencies.
